6 January 2013

So I can't exactly get online to check the weather forecast, but I have heard that several times this past week, Elko has been the coldest place in the nation, colder than Alaska, colder than Northern New York, colder than high elevation Rocky Mountains. Negative 15 was a normal temperature for the week. It was ridiculously cold! No amount of clothing keeps a person warm in that....

But I'm alive :) And we have our new companion now. The three of us have a lot in common and it makes working together really fun.

This transfer we are focusing on faith and miracles. How can we not see miracles when so many people all across the world are praying for our success!? So we're trying to have the faith that all those people have in us, that faith that our families have in us, that faith that the Lord has in us. We will see miracles in Elko this transfer. Continue to pray for us :)

We met the sweetest lady this last week. She's considered inactive but only because she is home bound. When we went we ended up talking to her son for quite some time. He is an active member, but serves in the singles branch so we have never met him before. He took us over to meet his mother. He informed us that she is always sleeping but that she loves company and we just have to wake her up.

So he shook her awake and said "Mom you have company" she turned over all groggily. But the moment she made eye contact with me - I kid you not - she leapt out of bed giggling and gave me a hug. I will forever have that image in my mind when I read a scripture verse that talks about a person being healed who leaps from their bed. We then talked to her for about an hour. Super friendly lady :)

Alright, I’m running out of time. I love you all dearly. I look forward to hearing from you all my mail? :)

Love me!
