The day after Christmas I was in
bed like all day. Super sick, And Thursday too. And Friday I should have been
in bed more than I was. And Saturday I shouldn't have ignored being sick as I
did (but I couldn't help myself because it was the mission party!! hehe...) And
Sunday, ya... equally as awful.
Today I am also struggling to write,
for several reasons. A) It is three degrees outside and it is almost as cold IN
the library. So my fingers are FREEZING. B) I honestly just want to go home and
sleep. But I'm so TIRED OF SLEEPING! ya... never thought I'd say I was tired of
sleeping on my mission.
Not sure what I have... but I'm
pretty sure I caught it from the other missionaries here. It feels like an
awful flu virus. But at the same time, I feel so few flu symptoms, mostly just
the exhaustion and sometimes nausea (but not ever to the point of throwing up.)
Its really frustrating. And it's not going away. At least it hasn't in the past
four days. Maybe soon!
We had our mission Christmas party
on Saturday. It was super fun :) We even got to watch a movie. That's rare and
special for a missionary lol. We watched a movie called courageous. It was a
good inspirational movie. And then at church on Sunday for the third hour we
had a combined meeting all about member missionary work. How perfect is that?
:) We need member referrals really badly. Finding people to teach ourselves is
important too, but when members send us to their friends then the people we are
teaching have much more support. This last transfer had zero new investigators,
which can be so disheartening! But we still keep going. That's missionary work.
Oh, speaking of transfers... this
one just ended... But we're both staying! AND, we get a new companion too. So
we'll be a trio for the next 6 weeks at least. I'm really excited for it
because it means that we can stay together AND keep our area, but we also get a
fresh outlook from a new companion. She'll be here on Wednesday. It's going to
be really interesting to have a third companion though. I'm so used to being
with one companion all the time, now it's going to be like a small party
everywhere we go.
So I have a new theme this transfer
too. It's Hebrews 11:33-34. Sometimes I forget that miracles are happening
everyday and that through my faith more and more miracles will and already are
happening. So this scripture is reminding me. We're bringing righteousness, and
helping people reach their own promises, we're stopping lions (or sinners) from
doing things they shouldn't, we're quenching the violence of fire by offering
the protection that the gospel brings to people, and we ourselves are escaping
the edge of the sword (or the wheelbarrow!). All it takes is faith.
Well, I love you all! Lots and lots.
You're always in my prayers.
Love,
Alexis
