Transfers
here aren't until February 12th and 13th. They come every six weeks. Well,
usually anyways. This next transfer will only be 5 weeks long because we have
to readjust our transfer schedule to get back on time with the MTC - it changed
to two weeks instead of three for English missionaries due to the huge influx
of missionaries coming.
This week was full of all sorts of adventures and little miracles. I honestly never get bored with my companions. Not that I could get bored anyways with all that we have to do here... but any spare moment seems to always be filled with laughter. We still have days where literally everything falls through and it feels like we aren't accomplishing anything. But we just persevere through it. Even Christ had days where no one wanted to listen to him and He was persecuted beyond imagining. But He never stopped.
Tuesday was one of those days, but it was still a good day. That day all three of us learned that our pool skills are very rusty... haha I don't think I was ever very good at pool anyways :p On Wednesday we did a service project that consisted of disassembling a dresser/shelf thing, sanding it down and then spray painting the whole thing ballerina shoe pink. It reminding me of my wrist handicap and I have learned that spray painting is not something that I can do effectively. Holding the nozzle down inflamed my carpel tunnel so badly that it was still shaking from exhaustion and inflammation three days later. Haha... oh and after spray painting in a somewhat confined space (i.e. a garage), if you blow your nose, it definitely comes out pink. Lol that was interesting. It made me worry just a little bit about what was in my lungs! Fortunately we didn't do it for very long and we kept the door open so we could get some fresh air. But 5 degrees is just not warm enough to do that kind of project outside. We also had a lesson with a new investigator on Wednesday :) Yep! New investigator! She is the sweetest girl (19) and has been coming to church for several months now. After talking to her and answering a lot of her questions (and ours) we found out that she already has a testimony of prayer and she has since she was very young. Because of that she prayed about the church a long time ago and she already knows that it is true. Now she's just learning more before she gets baptized someday.
On Thursday we got our first ever media referral! That was really exciting to me. It's kind of sad that I went four months before I ever got one. Most missionaries get a lot of those. (They come from when people peruse Mormon.org and request more information or a missionary visit.) So we have a new potential investigator who has requested that missionaries come and see her. She hasn't been home the last few days but her husband said that she'll be back tomorrow :)
Please tell everyone at home that I love them! You're all definitely my favorite family in the whole world! I think of you all often.
Love you lots,
