12 June 2013

So transfers have been crazy. Like really crazy, I almost feel like I am in an entirely new area because I have new companions and am living in a different place. Except I am not in a new area at all. I am still the one who knows our investigators. It's a whole different experience teaching someone about this area by myself. I am much better at getting double transferred because at least then I don't feel like the whole world s on my shoulders.

So my new companions are Sister B. and Sister Kn. I know that we're going to work well together this transfer. Sister B is from Salt Lake and has been on the mission for 6 months already. She served in Carson City before and from what I can tell she is a really good missionary. She is definitely not afraid to be bold or to do hard things. We can for sure use that in this area :) She also has a lot of new and fresh ideas from her experience. She has had a lot of luck in the past with tracting (meaning knocking on doors to find people to teach) and I have never really done it. Mostly because I just don't know how to do it. My trainer only did three doors with me and so I was never familiar with that process. But Sister B. is bold and willing to try anything. I have loved this last week because I have been able to see how other missionaries work.

Sister Kn. is also amazing!! One of her major strengths is that she loves people right away. And she feels God's love for them. She has shared a pretty powerful testimony several times solely because she knows that God loves these people so much. I can't hardly believe that she has only been out for a few days because she always seems to know exactly what she is doing. She is very familiar with the missionary lessons and the scriptures. I feel like the only thing she needs training in is the method of day to day missionary life. Like how we use our planners and how we prepare a baptism.

Speaking of preparing a baptism! Our referral, R. is getting baptized THIS Saturday :) He has been cruising along and he is so ready. The ward already loves him and he has a lot of friends at church. AND we set our mom and son with a baptism date as well! July 13th. :) I love being a missionary.

So I have really determined that I don't like cats. Do you know what I saw one do the other day!? Repulsive. And then it tried to walk into a house. Ugh. So, I guess cats really do toy with their food. We saw this cat prancing around with a lizard in its mouth. Then we discovered the lizard wasn't even dead. In fact it wasn't hardly even injured. Then the cat plops it on the ground just to let it run so he can pounce on it again. That poor lizard. The cat did that several times. Then got bored and finally ate the thing. Ulg... Did you  know that a lizards tail still wiggles on the ground even if the rest of the body has been eaten? Like a chicken with its head cut off I suppose. Lol. That was kind of disturbing. It confused the cat haha. But he wasn't even going to let that wiggling thing escape.

**Thanks so much for the keyboard thing. I am going to definitely put it to good use. I like being able to type letters. it is so much faster and it helps me not cramp up my hand!!

Love you!
