May 12th was Mother's Day and we all got to talk to each other (at the same time!), including Ashley in the UK!  It was such a blessing for us all to be together and talk (and see) each other!

Oh... here is an update on this past week that I don't think I talked about during our call yesterday....
we learned a lot about a dad of a less active family this last week. Actually I wasn't there, we were on our first STL (sister training leader) exchanges on Friday so my companion went with my 'other' companion's companion (follow that?). They were able to just talk to him as he was working on his car. So it was just a trust building conversation. Which I think is perfect. From what they said he opened up  a lot. Which is something that my companion and I have struggled getting people to do. Hopefully all goes well this coming week. I will definitely keep you posted.

So we got a referral this past week. Which was wonderful. It was the first referral we ever really got. :) And our referral was ecstatic to see us. My companion  had a brief lesson with him Friday, then we had a church tour with him Saturday and then he came to church on Sunday. And the dad of the less active family was there too. Which means we had TWO investigators at church. To you that is probably ridiculously low. But for here that is great :) We were quite excited about that. Our referral is pretty awesome. He is a musician and has worked with a lot of famous musicians. Like from the 70s so I don't know who they are. bands like Santana? He has even brushed shoulders with Eminem. Crazy huh? He was raised in New York. We met him down in our really sketchy area but he definitely doesn't fit the sketchy category. He is super respectful and wants to do what is right according to the Lord. I am quite impressed with that desire of his. He is excited to start the lessons with us!
